Job summary

Carrington Blake Recruitment is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to support managers and employees across a local council. The role covers employee relations, employment law, HR policies, organisational change and HR projects, with progression through the career grades.

The successful candidate will provide practical HR guidance, manage employee relations cases, advise on policy and processes, and collaborate with unions, health and safety teams, and OD colleagues.

Qualifications

• CIPD qualification or working towards CIPD.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies and employment law.
• Experience handling employee relations cases.
• Ability to provide clear HR advice to managers.
• Experience with trade unions desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
• Support employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability.
• Advise on employment law, HR policies and terms and conditions.
• Support recruitment, redeployment and organisational change.
• Work with Trade Unions and support consultation processes.
• Conduct meetings with managers and employees.
• Analyse HR data and management information.
• Prepare HR reports, presentations and recommendations.
• Progressively take responsibility for HR projects and complex casework.
