Job summary

Homes in Somerset is seeking a Housing Officer – Temporary Accommodation to prioritise case work, respond to housing enquiries and ensure all contacts are recorded on the Open Housing System. You will manage a portfolio of approximately 56 properties and deliver a comprehensive tenancy service to tenants.

You will work with the Homeless Service and partner agencies to support tenancy sustainment, inspections, welfare advice, and move-on planning while prioritising safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Good understanding of social housing and tenancy management.
• Experience delivering frontline housing services and handling records.
• Ability to interpret housing legislation and provide accurate guidance.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 56 properties with a responsive service.
• Advise tenants on tenancy and estate management, and liaise with partners.
• Collaborate with Homeless Service on risk assessment and move-on planning.
• Conduct inspections, monitor safety and compliance, and record outcomes.
