Job summary

Homes in Somerset is seeking a Housing Officer for Temporary Accommodation to manage a portfolio of about 56 properties, ensure tenancy readiness and compliant housing management. You will work with the Homeless Service and partner agencies to support move-on to permanent accommodation and maintain safe, well-managed properties.

The role requires strong communication, organisational skills, and experience with case management systems, with emphasis on safeguarding and data accuracy.

Qualifications

• Understanding of social housing and tenancy management.
• Awareness of Data Protection Act and health and safety in housing.
• Experience recording and maintaining statistical information.
• Experience dealing with complaints and delivering learning outcomes.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of temporary accommodation properties.
• Record all customer contact on the Open Housing System and provide advice.
• Lead or support complex case work and complaints handling.
• Collaborate with Case Manager Lead to update policies and procedures.
• Prepare and present monthly/quarterly performance information.
