Job summary

Yarnley House Care Home in Ringwood, Hampshire is seeking an experienced Home Manager to lead its 72-bed facility, strengthening governance, staffing, and growth while ensuring safe, high-quality care. You will work with the Deputy Manager to embed the quality framework and enable sustainable occupancy growth.

With a strong track record in nursing and dementia services, you will drive inspection readiness, staff stability and commercial performance, building trust with families and commissioners

Qualifications

• At least five years’ experience managing nursing homes, including nursing and dementia services, with a proven record of strong regulatory outcomes and quality improvement.
• Experience of commissioning or developing a growing home is highly desirable.
• A nursing qualification is not essential; you must bring the knowledge and judgement to oversee a nursing service effectively, alongside strong commercial and workforce planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen governance and quality assurance, preparing the home for CQC inspection.
• Coach the Deputy Manager and wider team through clear expectations and consistent support.
• Build trust with colleagues, supporting retention and a settled team culture.
• Plan recruitment and staffing alongside occupancy growth, matching admissions to the home’s capacity to provide safe care.
• Improve rostering, manage budgets and reduce reliance on agency staff.
• Build on relationships with families, commissioners and community partners, strengthening the home’s local presence.
