Job summary

Camberwell Park Specialist School in Manchester invites applications for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant/Teaching Assistant Level 4 (SEN). This permanent post runs 35 hours per week during term time plus 5 INSET days, with a starting salary of £28,507 and a full-time equivalent of £33,143 (Grade 6).

The role requires extensive experience supporting children and young people with SEN, strong planning and teaching skills, and numeracy/literacy at Level 2 or higher.

Qualifications

• GCSEs grades 9–4 including English and Maths or equivalent.
• Numeracy and literacy at Level 2 or NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience.

Responsibilities

• Support learning activities across school.
• Plan, prepare and deliver learning programmes for individuals and groups.
• Provide support to pupils to overcome barriers to learning.
• Cover for teacher short-term absence when needed.
• Assess student needs and provide feedback on progress.
