Job summary

Pioneer House High School in Manchester is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 1 (SEN) to join our dedicated team. This is a permanent, full-time role (35 hours per week, term time plus 5 INSET days) with a starting salary of £22,004.

You will support teaching and learning across the school, work with small groups, and help implement Individual Learning Plans, under the supervision of teachers and senior leaders. Excellent numeracy and literacy are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children or young people is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of child development and learning.
• Commitment to professional standards and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Work with small groups under the supervision of the teacher and implement Learning Plans.
• Provide regular feedback on progress and maintain records.
• Assist with the supervision of discreet groups of pupils when the teacher is not present.
• Be aware of and support difference and ensure all pupils have equal access to learning.
• Participate in training to develop relevant learning strategies and ensure students make progress.
• Support the performance management process and demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development.
• To converse at ease and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
