Prospere Learning Trust is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant/Teaching Assistant Level 4 (SEN) at Camberwell Park Specialist School on a permanent 35-hour week, term-time plus 5 INSET days. The role requires supporting pupils with SEMH, severe and complex needs, and involves planning and leading learning activities.

Applicants should have NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent, and GCSEs grade 9–4/A*-C; NUM/LIT level 2 or higher.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Experience planning and leading teaching and learning activities.
• Numeracy and Literacy skills to level 2 (GCSEs 9–4/A*-C) or equivalent or higher.
• NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide cover for whole classes when teachers are absent, including planning, preparation, assessment and reporting.
• Assess the needs of students and use specialist skills to support learning.
• Establish productive relationships with students and respond to individual needs.
• Encourage students to interact and work cooperatively.
• Assist in developing and implementing individual Education/Behaviour/Support/Mentoring plans.
• Contribute to comprehensive assessment and provide feedback and evidence.
• Record progress, behaviour and attendance with clear evidence of attainment.
• Implement learning activities and adapt them to student responses to maximise access to the curriculum.
