Job summary

The Primary First Trust Limited is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join the Cuxton team in Rochester, Kent. You will work alongside teachers to deliver engaging learning activities, cover during PPA and teacher absence, and provide targeted support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.

The successful candidate will have HLTA status or Level 3 TA qualification (or be working towards HLTA), strong literacy and numeracy skills, and the ability to foster an inclusive, calm

Qualifications

• Have experience of working with children across the primary curriculum, including pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
• Have excellent literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics, or equivalent).
• Hold HLTA status or a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), or are willing to work towards HLTA status.
• Are confident leading a class and adapt your approach to meet children's individual needs.
• Are enthusiastic, well organised, self-motivated and trustworthy.
• Communicate well and maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
• Are committed to developing your own practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging learning activities for whole classes, small groups and individual pupils.
• Cover classes during PPA time and Teacher absence, so that learning stays consistent and continuous.
• Provide targeted support and interventions that help pupils become confident, independent learners.
• Monitor, assess, record and report on pupils' progress and development.
• Work with Teachers and our SEND team to plan and deliver individual support for pupils with special educational needs, including those with social, emotional and mental health needs.
• Support positive behaviour and help keep the classroom a calm, focused and inclusive place to learn.
• Build positive, professional relationships with pupils, parents and carers.
