Job summary

Doubletrees School, part of the Special Partnership Trust, is seeking a skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support planning, delivery and assessment of lessons and to lead whole-class activities within an agreed framework.

You will work closely with staff to promote pupil progress, independence and inclusion, while ensuring safeguarding and professional standards are upheld across the Trust’s educational environment.

Qualifications

• Support planning, delivery and assessment of lessons, adapting activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs.
• Teach whole classes within an agreed system and supervision framework, including during short-term teacher absences.
• Promote pupils' progress, independence and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Lead learning activities and teaching whole classes within an agreed framework.
• Monitor and assess pupils' responses to learning, providing detailed feedback to teachers.
• Use safeguarding and positive behaviour strategies to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Organise and safely manage learning environments and resources.
• Lead and deploy Teaching Assistants and volunteers during whole-class learning.
• Contribute to meetings with parents, carers and professionals with feedback on progress.
• Support pupils' physical, medical and personal-care needs in line with training and procedures.
• Contribute to off-site activities and risk assessments.
