Job summary

Overton School in Ludlow is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support autistic pupils and those with complex needs. You will work with teachers and the multidisciplinary team to plan, deliver learning, and lead targeted interventions.

The role requires a Level 3 TA qualification, HLTA experience within SEND, and GCSEs at grade 4/C or above. You will mentor colleagues and contribute to consistently high-quality support across the school.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience as HLTA within SEND.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
• Experience supporting autistic pupils and additional learning needs.
• Ability to plan and deliver learning activities; IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging learning activities and provide cover when required.
• Lead targeted interventions and adapt learning to individual needs.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Support pupils’ confidence, independence, emotional wellbeing and behaviour.
• Mentor Teaching Assistants and share experience.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
