Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in the Sheffield area. You will support pupils across year groups, lead lessons when required and deliver targeted interventions, helping pupils achieve their learning goals.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, assisting with planning and preparation, and promoting a positive, inclusive classroom environment for all learners.

Qualifications

• Experience in a primary school setting.
• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Confident leading groups and covering whole classes.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Organised, adaptable and proactive.
• Excellent communication and behaviour management.
• Passionate about helping children reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Leading lessons and classroom activities when required.
• Providing whole-class cover under the direction of teaching staff.
• Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions.
• Supporting pupils across different year groups.
• Assisting with the planning and preparation of learning activities.
• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement.
• Monitoring pupils' progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Education

HLTA qualification/status or relevant equivalent experience
