Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support a secondary school on the Wirral, Merseyside. You will deliver learning activities, support students 1:1 and in small groups, and provide cover for lessons as needed.

The ideal candidate will hold an HLTA qualification or equivalent, demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills, and be able to lead activities with independence while supporting pupils with SEND and behaviour needs.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or relevant experience.
• Experience in a secondary school setting preferred.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to lead learning activities and monitor progress.
• Patient, proactive and adaptable approach.
• DBS check or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of engaging lessons and activities.
• Lead learning activities and interventions with individuals and groups.
• Provide classroom cover when required.
• Support students with SEND, behavioural and learning needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN teams to monitor progress.
• Build positive relationships to promote engagement.
• Promote positive behaviour and inclusive learning environment.
