Job summary

Sedgemoor Manor School is recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our Education team. We seek versatile, resilient and committed HLTA’s to support upper school classes working towards qualifications.

You will assist pupils and young people with their work, engage learning, and support with pupil engagement and health care plan strategies. Sedgemoor Manor is a specialist day school for youths with autism spectrum needs, aged 7–19, offering a calm, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Adaptability to support in upper school classes and engage pupils.
• Ability to lead small group or 1:1 interventions.
• Strong communication with teachers, parents and pupils.
• Demonstrates empathy and professionalism when supporting SEN students.

Responsibilities

• Lead small group or one-to-one interventions based on student needs.
• Collaborate with education and wellbeing teams to support emotional regulation.
• Maintain positive relationships and act as a role model for pupils.
• Plan, deliver and assess interventions, tracking student progress.
• Support professional development of other staff where needed.
