Job summary

Sedgemoor Manor School is recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the Education team. The successful candidate will support pupils in upper school classes toward qualifications, working with the class tutor to promote engagement and learning through Effective strategies and building strong relationships.

We are a specialist day school for young people aged 7 to 19 with autism spectrum needs, offering a calm environment and small groups.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification preferred.
• Experience in leading individual/small group interventions and mentoring others desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead small group or 1:1 interventions to raise academic achievement and support personal development.
• Support learning across the curriculum and adapt strategies to student needs.
• Collaborate with education and wellbeing teams to support emotional regulation and engagement.
• Maintain positive relationships and act as a trusted adult for students with SEN.
• Plan, deliver and assess interventions and track progress.
