Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Senior Technician to join our North West and Midlands Roads team in the UK. You will produce technical engineering information, lead CAD quality, and support design development for highways, drainage and civil infrastructure projects, delivering outputs that meet industry standards.

Site visits, safe systems of work and mentoring of junior staff form part of the role. The position offers hybrid working, development toward chartership, and engagement with national

Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads.
• Level 3 STEM qualification or equivalent engineering technician experience.
• Progress towards EngTech or similar professional qualifications.
• Understanding of highway engineering design techniques, standards and procedures.
• Experience with MS Excel or similar data handling tools.
• Good communication with clients, developers and consultants.
• Ability to upskill others in engineering drawing practices.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Produce technical engineering information ensuring outputs meet industry standards.
• Lead CAD quality across the team to maintain high standards.
• Support design development for highways, drainage and civil infrastructure projects.
• Conduct site visits to gather information for design work.
• Apply safe systems of working and contribute to risk assessments.
