Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Roads team in the UK. The role is based in London & South East with offices in Cambridge, London, Basingstoke, Guildford or Southampton, offering hybrid working and a path toward Chartership.

You’ll develop highway designs, lead project teams, mentor junior staff and ensure delivery to budget, programme and standards while collaborating with clients and stakeholders across varied schemes.

Qualifications

• A passion for design and developing innovative solutions.
• A degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant discipline.
• Working towards IEng or CEng status with a professional institute.
• Knowledge of highway design across project life cycle, including geometry and junctions.
• Familiarity with design codes and preparing drawings for contracts.

Responsibilities

• Support highway design development across diverse sectors through all life-cycle stages.
• Ensure projects are delivered to budget, programme, and standards.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and act as mentor.
• Assist Project Managers with design planning, pricing, and cost estimation.
• Check, certify and issue designs, documents, and reports.
• Coordinate resources across multi-disciplinary project accounts.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to deliver schemes.
• Site supervision and contractor compliance where required.
