Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer on a contract basis for an established civil engineering consultancy. Opportunities available in Birmingham, Bristol or Reading, delivering a varied range of highways and infrastructure schemes.

You will lead junction design, manage projects, mentor junior staff, ensure compliance with standards (DMRB, LTN1/20) and liaise with authorities. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Vehicle Tracking, and drainage design is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience designing access junctions from concept to detailed design.
• Strong knowledge of LTN1/20 cycling infrastructure.
• 3D modelling and drainage design including Section 278.
• Knowledge of local authority and National Highways processes.
• Familiarity with DMRB/Maunal for Streets/LTN1/20/NRSWA.
• Experience with adoption agreements (278/38/104).
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Vehicle Tracking, KeyLINES/SIGN/POST, Flow.
• Strong communication and ability to produce technical reports.
• Ability to mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of access junctions including roundabouts and signalised junctions.
• Work on infrastructure projects from small schemes to large developments.
• Provide technical expertise ensuring designs comply with legislation and policy.
• Mentor junior team members and support project delivery.
• Manage tasks to deliver on time and within budget.
