Jacobs is hiring a Senior Highways Engineer to lead key design deliverables across transportation projects. You’ll identify automation opportunities, mentor junior staff and work with discipline leads to ensure quality outcomes for clients such as National Highways and local authorities.

You will contribute to major programmes, apply DMRB/MCHW standards, and operate within a global multi-disciplinary team while embracing flexible/hybrid working arrangements and a culture of safety and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Design experience in transportation and the built environment.
• Attained a relevant professional qualification, for example a degree in engineering, and CEng/ IEng or equivalent qualifications or work experience.
• Technical experience of delivering local and/or major highways projects or the land side alignment elements in adjacent markets such as Water Aviation or rail.
• Thorough understanding of commonly used design standards such as Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW) or international equivalents.
• Sound knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and a passion for fostering safety and wellbeing.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a global multi-disciplinary team.
