Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Senior Highways and Drainage Engineer to join our team in the UK, with agile working and up to 1-2 days per week from home desired. You will contribute to a broad portfolio of infrastructure projects across multiple locations.

The role focuses on delivering design outputs, leading projects, and developing technical capability within the team, while ensuring safety, buildability and quality across schemes.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of highways and drainage engineering principles.
• Experience with temporary works design and checking.
• Familiarity with CDM, SHE, EA procedures.

Responsibilities

• Producing, checking and reviewing design outputs such as calculations, sketches, drawings, 3D models, reports and risk assessments.
• Acting as Project Lead for multiple projects, managing technical scope, programme, budget and relationships with preconstruction and construction teams, from bid through to delivery.
• Developing yourself, other individuals and the wider team, contributing to continuous improvement of processes and systems.

Were looking for Highways and Drainage Engineers to join our team in various locations around the UK. Locations: Birmingham / Bristol / Cambridge / Cardiff / Glasgow / Leeds / Liverpool / London / Manchester / Newcastle / Norwich / Plymouth - agile working, with up to 1-2 days per week from home if desired Hours: 40 hours per week - flexibility on hours available if desired Sector: Working across all sectors of the built environment Join us as a Senior Highways and Drainage Engineer and become part of one of the UK's leaders in temporary works design and management and construction-related technical services. As part of our 100-strong team, you'll get to work on hundreds of projects across one of the most diverse and high-profile portfolios in the country, with access to Kier's £11bn+ project pipeline - supporting complex construction and major infrastructure schemes from concept through to delivery. Are you..., drainage temporary works design and checking, reviewing permanent designs for compliance and buildability, supporting tenders and preconstruction planning, and providing technical support to overcome construction-stage and post-construction issues and defects.

Main responsibilities

• Acting as Project Lead for multiple projects, managing technical scope, programme, budget and relationships with preconstruction and construction teams, from bid through to delivery
• Developing yourself, other individuals and the wider team, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and systems, enabling the business to adapt to current and future challenges.
