Job summary

Matchtech represents a client seeking a Senior Engineer - Highways Design & Construction on a contract basis in London. The role leads pre-construction, construction, and delivery phases of highways and transport projects, ensuring technical compliance, buildability, and handover readiness.

The candidate should have extensive highway design experience, stakeholder engagement, and strong programme and budget management capabilities to deliver schemes on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
• Membership of a relevant professional institution (ICE/CIHT) or working toward accreditation.
• Significant experience delivering highways/traffic infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design finalisation and pre-construction delivery.
• Manage delivery of highways, traffic and transport infrastructure projects through construction to handover.
• Oversee contractor and consultant management and coordination.
• Monitor programmes, budgets and risks; implement mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with CDM, health and safety and standards.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement and public consultation.
