Job description

Rua is an independent specialty coffee shop based in an archway beside bustling Holloway road underground station.

At Rua we work with a vast selection of roasters from around the world, we change our house / guest beans regularly. This role would involve supporting the sourcing of new roasters for retail and use in store, dialling in coffees across all brew methods and working with the team to ensure quality across the board.

We use the incredible SLAYER LP espresso machine and Makhlonig e85 grinders.

About You

We require an experienced barista with a thorough understanding of coffee, from the science of dialling in to the art of latte pouring. You must be experienced in fast-paced environments and be able to maintain composure and efficiency during peak times. The individual taking the role will also be involved in our frozen pour over menu, recipe creation and cupping events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Consistently dial in grinders for optimum shot quality • Steam milk to the perfect texture for a variety of coffee drinks. • Maintain poise and excellence during busy periods. • Provide knowledgeable and friendly interactions with all customers. • Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop & cleaning checklists are completed. • Minimal food prep
