Job summary

Fuse Energy, a hardware and software energy pioneer, seeks a Senior Test Engineer to ensure regulatory, safety and performance standards across lifecycle. You will work hands-on with prototypes and field deployments, translating requirements into testable outcomes with cross-functional teams.

You will lead validation, certification and end-of-line verification against LVD, EMC, grid codes, and environmental standards, designing tests, documenting results, and driving corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• At least 5 years of hardware test, compliance, regulatory, or certification-focused engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with electrical or power-electronic systems in lab or field environments.
• Proficiency with standard electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, power analysers, multimeters, insulation testers, data acquisition).
• Experience creating structured test plans, executing formal procedures, and producing high-quality documentation.
• Knowledge of standards such as LVD, EMC, grid connection codes and related UK/EU directives.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills with detail-oriented approach.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tests in parallel across lab, site, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Plan, set up, and execute validation, verification, and compliance tests on Fuse Energy hardware systems.
• Coordinate with notified bodies, test houses, and third-party labs for external certification and type testing.
• Support in-field testing, commissioning, and acceptance at customer or pilot sites to validate safety and grid interoperability.
• Execute test campaigns covering electrical safety, EMC, grid code compliance, functional safety, and environmental requirements.
• Identify and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and system issues with design and software teams to drive corrective actions.
• Design test equipment and software for automated testing (HIL or EOL) at production sites.
• Maintain thorough test documentation and compliance dossiers for audits.
• Communicate results, risks, and status to engineering, operations, and leadership.
