Job summary

Fuse Energy in London is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to validate hardware, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive certification across prototypes and deployed systems.

You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, and operations teams to translate requirements into practical test plans, with hands‑on validation, external certification coordination, and rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of hardware test, compliance, regulatory, or certification‑focused engineering experience.
• Hands‑on experience with electrical or power‑electronic systems in lab or field environments.
• Proficiency with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, power analysers, multimeters, insulation testers, data loggers).
• Experience creating structured test plans, executing procedures, and documenting results.

Responsibilities

• Plan, set up, and execute validation, verification, and compliance tests on Fuse Energy hardware systems in lab environments and on live sites.
• Prepare systems for external certification and type testing with notified bodies and third‑party labs.
• Support in‑field testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities at customer or pilot sites.
• Execute test campaigns covering electrical safety (LVD), EMC, grid code (G99/G100) and environmental requirements.
• Identify and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and system issues, driving corrective actions with engineering teams.
• Design test equipment and software for automated testing (HIL or EOL).
• Develop and maintain test documentation and compliance dossiers for audits.
• Communicate results and risks clearly to engineering, operations, and leadership.
