Job summary

The Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join a specialist Hand trauma and rehabilitation team at Northern General Hospital in Sheffield. This advanced practice post offers a leadership role in assessment, treatment and ongoing patient management.

Qualifications

• BSc in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
• Current HPC Registration
• Postgraduate Diploma/Masters in relevant subject to this post or equivalent knowledge and skills.
• Master’s degree in relevant Specialty
• Non-Medical Prescribing

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the delivery of high quality therapy care within a defined clinical areas or pathway.
• First contact clinician in consultant outpatient trauma and elective clinics for diagnosing the condition, screening for serious pathology and either book for surgery, refer to another consultant or refer for conservative treatment.
• Provide expert clinical practice with advanced clinical reasoning and support to staff.
• Provide clinical leadership to develop staff within the remit.
• Lead evaluation and development of clinical practice within the specialism ensuring compliance with national and local guidelines and frameworks.
• Develop the evidence base for practice through audit, clinical effectiveness and research activity and support.
