GE Vernova in Edinburgh is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help deliver next-generation power systems software. You will provide technical leadership, design modules, and align with Product Line Leaders to realise the vision for scalable, real-time grid solutions.

You will work across teams, drive design decisions, and mentor colleagues, while leveraging Java/Spring Boot, microservices, and containerized tech in a hybrid Edinburgh setting.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or STEM with strong software development background.
Expertise in Java with Spring/Spring Boot and microservices.
Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes; familiarity with Helm.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership in a fast-paced agile environment.
Understand product modules and define interfaces between components.
Lead design decisions, participate in technical designs, and measure estimates.
Drive code quality, testing automation, and performance optimisations.
Mentor others and collaborate with global teams across time zones.
