Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in the South‑West, who are recruiting for a Senior Governance Officer on a 3‑month contract with the possibility of extension. The role can be conducted fully remotely, and they are looking for someone on a part‑time basis, 2‑3 days per week. The position is due to start as soon as possible, and the hourly rate of pay is £25‑£30 p / hour via an Umbrella company.

Duties
  • Providing high‑level governance support to the Head of Governance, Risk and Assurance and the wider team during a period of disruption and transition, ensuring continuity and delivery of key governance priorities
  • Supporting continued implementation of the Association's Governance Action Plan
  • Assisting with policy reviews and consolidation
  • Working on processes and documentation for fit and proper persons checks, ensuring compliance and completeness
  • Supporting the recruitment process for new non‑executive director
  • Providing high‑quality minute‑taking for Board / Committee meetings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to organisational standards
  • Reviewing the organisation's compliance with Charity Commission requirements and related Charity law / regulation
Required Experience
  • Social Housing Regulation and compliance, or similar regulated environment
  • Proven experience in policy development and drafting high‑quality Board / Committee papers
  • Minute‑taking expertise with ability to produce clear, concise, and professional records
Working Hours

Circa 21 hours per week
