Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com is hiring a senior Golang Engineer to shape the integration platform that connects Grocery Partners with the JET ecosystem. This permanent role requires setting technical standards, leading architectural decisions, and mentoring junior engineers.

You will work primarily in Golang, building event-driven microservices on Kubernetes with AWS, Kafka, S3 and DynamoDB. Strong production on-call experience and the ability to explain complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders are

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Golang.
• Experience with event-driven distributed systems: HTTP/REST, async messaging (Kafka, SQS, SNS, Pub/Sub or RabbitMQ), eventual consistency, idempotency, retries and dead-letter handling.
• Production AWS experience: on-call, incident response and observability.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Ownership beyond your own tickets: end-to-end problem solving and improving team processes.
• Mentoring shown by prior mentoring, learning sessions or documentation for others.
• Excellent communication: able to explain technical ideas to non-technical audiences and document your thinking (WOL).
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and using them to accelerate delivery while preserving judgment.
• Pair programming experience.
• Technical leadership or architecture ownership would be a plus.
• Kubernetes or other container platforms experience would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build features in Golang for the core integration platform.
• Make key architectural decisions and set the technical direction for the platform.
• Support product and delivery teams.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers and shape how the team builds.
