Job summary

Sainsbury's is seeking a Lead General Merchandise Manager to direct a team of managers responsible for homeware to beauty, including TU and Habitat brands. You will plan for key trading activity, coach for high standards, and ensure stock is effectively managed in-store.

The role focuses on delivering exceptional customer experiences, leading changes, and optimizing performance across complex operations while supporting an inclusive workplace culture across our stores.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large teams in a fast-paced customer-focused environment.
• Proven track record improving KPIs across sales, stock and customer metrics.
• Confident handling sensitive people matters with fairness and sound judgement.
• Operational leadership experience in retail or hospitality sectors.
• Ability to lead change and embed new ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Direct a small team of managers to showcase all non-food products including TU and Habitat brands.
• Plan for upcoming trading activity with store leadership team.
• Cover store leadership in the absence of a store manager and coach for high standards.
• Ensure correct stock management in the in-store warehouse.
• Manage performance, discipline, scheduling, and pay processes.
