Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a senior ground investigation engineer to lead site-based projects within our UK Site Evaluation and Restoration team. You will manage ground investigations, supervise engineers and contractors, and coordinate programme and commercial aspects, while upholding SHEQ standards across multiple sites.

Based in the UK, you can select from Warrington, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff or Glasgow offices, and you will travel across the UK to deliver projects for rail, energy, highways and

Qualifications

• Lead engineer on large-scale ground investigation projects.
• Minimum 5 years field experience.
• Experience with NEC4 contract management and CE/early warnings.
• Strong health & safety and risk management; budget awareness.
• SMSTS preferred.
• Stakeholder management and communication skills essential.
• Working towards professional membership and chartership.

Responsibilities

• Site management including supply chain coordination and procurement.
• Field-based work across the UK with a focus on ground investigations and SHEQ documentation.
• Leadership and coordination of site teams; feeding into the project management team.
• QA/QC of logging of soil and rock to British Standards; ensure quality of in-situ testing.
• Commercial reporting to the project manager and input into compensation events.
• Stakeholder liaison and cross-disciplinary collaboration to ensure project integrity.
• Produce project outputs and ensure compliance with Arcadis standards and national codes.
• Maintain relationships with Project Manager, client, and internal teams to communicate progress.
