Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Ground Investigation Engineer to lead site investigations across the UK. You will manage field teams, coordinate with project managers, ensure SHEQ compliance, and deliver rigorous documentation and testing outputs.

The role offers flexibility in office location (Warrington, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff or Glasgow) with frequent site work across the UK, requiring strong safety discipline and client liaison skills.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng in a relevant field is required.
• Experience leading GI projects and supervising multiple contractors.
• Minimum of 5 years field experience.
• Knowledge of NEC4 contract management and early warnings/CEs.
• Strong SHEQ, safety and risk management focus; budget/technical awareness.

Responsibilities

• Site management including supply chain coordination and procurement.
• Field-based GI work across the UK with focus on SHEQ and documentation.
• Lead site teams and coordinate with project management.
• QA/QC of soil/rock logging per British Standards; in-situ testing.
• Commercial reporting and input into compensation events.
• Stakeholder liaison and cross-sector collaboration.
• Produce outputs and ensure compliance with Arcadis and national standards.
