Job Description:

Ian Farmer Associates are recruiting for a Senior Geotechnical Project Manager to support the team in Glasgow, UK. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Responsibilities:

• Manage office profit and loss, aiming to meet budget targets.
• Provide monthly updates on office and team development to senior management.
• Lead and develop a team, supporting training and growth, and expanding the team as needed.
• Review client technical specifications for tendering, project prep, and data collection.
• Review and issue technical reports such as borehole logs, in situ tests, and monitoring data, ensuring quality and timeliness.
• Perform quality assurance and technical reviews of data and reports.
• Lead or assist project management teams.
• Utilize software like Holebase, Microsoft Office, and internal tools; training provided.
• Oversee daily office operations.
• Mentor team members to ensure report quality and skill development.
• Address client data queries effectively.
• Perform additional tasks as reasonably required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience in ground investigation, including report production for demanding clients.
• Familiarity with geotechnical databases like Holebase or gINT.
• BSc in geology, civil engineering, or related field required.
• MSc preferred but not essential.
• Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience.
• Knowledge of ground investigation methods and UK soil/rock strata.
• Ability to interpret geological data and logs to industry standards.
• Proficiency in report writing and data handling software.
• Strong communication skills.
