Job summary

Sweco UK Limited is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in Leeds to join our Ground Engineering team. The role offers hybrid working with a minimum of three days per week in the office/on site and flexible start/finish times.

You will deliver geotechnical design services across the UK for highways, water, energy and development, with opportunities to work on high-profile projects and support a talented team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a UK geotechnical consultancy.
• Knowledge/experience delivering geotechnical projects.
• Strong interpersonal and teamworking skills.
• Experience in geotechnical design, ground investigations, reporting and construction support.
• Familiarity with MS Project, Word, Excel, AutoCAD and geotechnical design software.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to develop practical engineering solutions.
• Proactive approach to personal development and supporting others.

Responsibilities

• Review design inputs and raise RFIs through the Project Manager.
• Produce high-quality design deliverables including calculations, drawings, sketches and reports.
• Support implementation of project checking and approval processes.
• Identify and communicate design changes to the Project Manager.
• Participate in technical reviews and internal project meetings.
• Check design outputs prior to submission for approval.
• Attend internal project review meetings.
• Support junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
