Job summary

Sweco in London is seeking an experienced Senior/Principal/Associate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Structures team near Liverpool Street. You’ll contribute to ground movement assessments, foundation design, and ground improvement across central London and Europe, collaborating with structural engineers and clients throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in geotechnical engineering design and assessment.
• Experience with Ground Movement Assessments and complex third-party interfaces.
• Knowledge of foundation design, ground improvement and foundation reuse.
• Experience working with structural engineers and contractors.
• Understanding of contamination and remediation.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients, collaborators and internal teams.
• Digital capability with PLAXIS and PDisp.

Responsibilities

• Provide geotechnical design and assessment on complex building/infrastructure projects.
• Contribute to technical reports, calculations and design communication.
• Mentor team members with less experience.
• Engage in pre-purchase site due diligence and risk identification.
• Support construction-stage activities with site teams and contractors.
