Job summary

Sweco in Leeds is seeking an Engineer to join our Highways team. You will work on landmark highway projects across public and private sectors, balancing design excellence with safety and sustainability.

This role offers flexible working with a minimum of three days in the office, mentorship, and opportunities to progress professionally while delivering high quality solutions for clients.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant field and working toward professional qualification.
• Experience delivering highway projects or work packages within multi-disciplinary schemes.
• Experience in highway geometry design per DMRB; preferable with Manual for Streets; using Bentley/OpenRoads or Civils 3D.
• Experience in highway ancillary works design and MCHW specs preferred.
• Strong AutoCAD experience and BIM integration.
• Ability to present design solutions to clients and stakeholders.
• Keen to learn, progress and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking design elements from road geometry, drainage, and pavement to restraints, signs and markings with senior support.
• Producing design outputs: drawings, specs, schedules, reports and calculations.
• Collaborating with team and other design disciplines; understanding their role.
• Ensuring deliverables meet timescales and budgets.
• Ensuring solutions meet client needs and expectations.
• Complying with IMS and current H&S legislation.
