Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior to early Principal Geo-environmental Consultant to lead contaminated land and ground engineering projects from Southampton. You will oversee desk studies, investigations, and remediation strategies while developing client relationships and mentoring junior staff.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, regulatory awareness, and a proactive, commercially aware approach within a hybrid working environment in the Southeast.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in a geo-environmental subject (Geology, Environmental Science, etc.).
• Experience delivering contaminated land/ground engineering projects.
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of geo-environmental and contaminated land projects; own discrete work packages.
• Plan/manage ground investigations, coordinate subcontractors and monitoring programmes.
• Provide technical direction and interpret data; support project delivery with client-facing communication.
• Prepare/review reports (Phase 1 Desk Studies, GI reports, risk assessments, remediation strategies).
• Develop conceptual site models and assess source-pathway-receptor linkages.
