Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Southampton is seeking a Geo-environmental Consultant to support contaminated land and geotechnical projects. You will contribute to reporting, data interpretation and fieldwork across a variety of projects with a strong client-facing element.

The role offers a balance of office-based technical consultancy and site investigations, with opportunities to develop independent responsibility and progression toward chartered status.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate experience in geo-environmental industry, with contaminated land/geotechnical exposure.
• Experience in contractor or consultancy environments.
• Experience supervising ground investigations and preparing technical reports.
• Knowledge of British Standards, industry guidance and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience liaising with clients and subcontractors to deliver projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical reports: desk studies, factual/interpretive reports, and Ground Investigation Reports.
• Take increasing ownership of report preparation and ensure high technical standards.
• Review field/lab data to identify ground and environmental risks.
• Coordinate and deliver ground investigations, supervise drilling, trail pits, wells, in-situ tests.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and liaise with clients and project teams.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental requirements on site.
