Job summary

Aztec Group is seeking a qualified professional to manage day-to-day accounting for fund structures under the direction of the Financial Reporting Manager. The role involves bookkeeping, reporting, tax returns, and liaising with clients and intermediaries.

The position requires progressing ACCA/ACA qualifications, strong financial services experience, and excellent interpersonal and computer skills. The role supports flexible hybrid working and career development within Aztec Academy.

Qualifications

• Strong financial services experience (to be supported through the Aztec Academy).
• Computer literacy is essential.
• Very good interpersonal skills to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts.

Responsibilities

• Bookkeep a complex range of funds, management companies and related structures and liaise with clients and intermediaries.
• Prepare and reconcile investor reports, statutory financial statements, and respond to investor queries.
• Deal with routine audit queries.
• Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Maintain eFront and Excel working paper schedules for accounting.
• Prepare and reconcile tax returns (direct and indirect).
• Mentor junior staff under supervision of seniors.
• Support ongoing and new strategic projects.

About the role:

Reports to Financial Reporting Manager

The purpose of this position is to carry out routine day-to-day accounting of fund structures under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager.

Key responsibilities:

• Bookkeep a complex range of funds, management companies and associated fund structures and liaise with clients and intermediaries as necessary

• Complete all aspects of accounting matters for a portfolio of fund structures, including the preparation, reconciliation and proofing of investor reports, statutory financial statements, and ad-hoc investor queries

• Deal with the completion of routine audit queries

• Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and provide supporting documentation evidencing transactions

• Maintain accurate records on eFront and Microsoft Excel working paper schedules for all aspects of accounting

• Deal with the preparation and reconciliation of periodic direct and indirect tax returns

• Act as a mentor to junior staff under the supervision of senior staff

• Get involved and play an active part in supporting with ongoing and new strategic projects

Skills, knowledge, expertise:

• The candidate will be expected to be part qualified with a relevant professional qualification (preferably having commenced ACCA Professional level or ACA Advanced level)

• Strong financial services experience (to be supported through the Aztec Academy)

• Computer literacy skills are essential

• Very good interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
