Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking a Senior Advisor for Fluvial Flood Risk Modelling to join our Evidence Services team. You will support and provide assurance on complex flood risk models while guiding technical delivery across multiple teams.

You will lead in modelling Standard Hydraulic Flood Models, mentor colleagues and help translate complex results for stakeholders, ensuring high-quality flood risk decisions across England.

Qualifications

Expert knowledge and technical leadership in flood modelling and hydrology.
Experience building hydraulic flood models in a fluvial setting with GIS.
Experience in data processing and GIS software packages.
Mentoring/coaching skills and commitment to development.
Ability to work independently and in teams to solve problems.
Excellent communication of complex problems to non-experts.
Inclusive mindset and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
Strong influencing and persuading skills.

Responsibilities

Support six Fluvial Delivery Teams technically and contribute to ways of working, skills and training.
Provide input to Centres of Excellence and risk mapping/modelling.
Collaborate with Risk Assessment/Head of Flood Risk Mapping and Modelling colleagues.
Act as part of Evidence Services to deliver high-quality flood evidence and interpretation.
