Job summary

Environment Agency in England is seeking a Senior Advisor in Fluvial Flood Risk Modelling to join our Evidence Services. You will provide expert modelling support, explain uncertainty to non-experts and coach others in developing flood models.

The role collaborates across the FCRM Directorate and six Fluvial Delivery Teams to deliver high‑quality risk insights. We value inclusion and flexible working arrangements, with a national footprint and opportunities to influence standards and training.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge and technical leadership in flood modelling and hydrology.
• Experience in building hydraulic flood models in a fluvial setting.
• Experience in data processing and management, and GIS software packages.
• Mentoring and coaching skills, commitment to continuous development.

Responsibilities

• Support and provide assurance to complex flood risk modelling projects.
• Mentor colleagues and coordinate across six Fluvial Delivery Teams.
• Collaborate with the Risk Assessment/Head of Flood Risk Mapping and Modelling teams.
• Contribute to ways of working, skills development and training across Evidence Services.
