Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking a Senior Advisor in Fluvial Flood Risk Modelling to join our Evidence Services team within Flood and Coastal Risk Management. You will provide technical leadership and assurance across complex flood models, supporting multiple delivery teams and stakeholders.

You will explain uncertainty in flood risk assessments to non-experts, mentor colleagues, and help shape methods and training across the Directorate.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to build and validate fluvial flood risk models.
• Experience with industry-standard hydraulic modelling and GIS packages.
• Strong data management and GIS skills.
• Mentoring others and sharing expertise.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to 6 Fluvial Delivery Teams.
• Contribute to methods, skills and training development across Evidence Services.
• Explain complex flood-risk concepts and uncertainties to non-experts.
