Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal/Associate in its Water team to lead real-time flood forecasting projects and related hydrology work. You will calibrate and check models, mentor colleagues, and drive Tender opportunities while maintaining client relations across the Environment Agency and other clients.

You will have opportunities to apply advanced modelling tools and stay current with legislation, guidelines, and best practices in flood risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in flood forecasting modelling with Flood Modeller.
• Strong GIS capabilities (QGIS/ArcGIS/MapInfo) and data analysis.
• Experience leading teams, mentoring juniors and contributing to tenders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of real-time flood forecasting projects and related reports.
• Develop, calibrate and validate flood forecasting models (e.g. PDM, Flood Modeller).
• Mentor team members and support professional development.
• Build client relationships and contribute to bid/tender processes.
