Job summary

Join AECOM as a Senior Flood Modeller in the UK Water team, delivering high-profile flood modelling and hydrology projects across the UK and beyond. You will guide junior staff, develop offerings for authorities, water companies, private and public sector clients, and contribute to tenders.

You will be a senior technical resource, modelling with Flood Modeller, MIKE, HEC-RAS and ICM, while mentoring colleagues and engaging with clients to ensure high-quality outputs within agreed programmes and

Qualifications

• Significant experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling
• Knowledge of EA requirements for flood modelling and assessments
• Understanding of physico-chemical water quality standards
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor-level civil engineering or equivalent with professional qualification in water sector

Responsibilities

• Develop and check hydraulic models for Flood Alleviation Schemes and Flood Risk Assessments
• Develop water quality models using industry-standard software
• Conceptualise and scope modelling approaches with risk awareness
• Lead tenders and mentor junior staff within the team
• Build relationships with clients and work across technical disciplines
• Stay up-to-date with legislation and guidelines affecting services
