Job summary

A leading design and engineering firm in Ashford is seeking an experienced Senior Electronics / Firmware Engineer to support R&D projects and take responsibility for product design from concept through to production. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in electronics and firmware design, knowledge of CAD for PCB layout, and a background in the medical industry is beneficial. This role requires strong communication skills and a self-motivated attitude.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of design experience preferred.
• Degree (2:1) or better ideal.
• Experience in the medical industry is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support R&D project work.
• Take responsibility for electronics and firmware design from concept to production.
• Experience in digital and analogue design.
• Embedded programming experience in ‘C’, VHDL.
• Knowledge of CAD for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Good presentation and communication skills.

Our client is a leading design, engineering and manufacturing company who specialise within the medical industry based in Ashford, Kent. Due to the increased demand, they are looking for an experienced Senior Electronics / Firmware Engineer to join their team.

Responsibilities

• Support R&D project work.
• To take responsibility for the electronics and firmware design of products from concept through to production taking account of requirements, timescales, cost and regulatory constraints.
• Digital, Analogue design experience.
• Embedded Programming Experience in ‘C’, VHDL.
• C++, .net, C#, java, Python, or algorithm development an advantage.
• Experience within a Design or R&D department.
• Knowledge of CAD for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Can do attitude, inquisitive, willing to take on tasks as deemed necessary for the project.
• Ability to client face, good presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to take on other systems elements within a project such as thermals, optics etc an advantage.
• 8+ years design experiences an advantage.
• Experience in the medical industry an advantage.
• Hands on, Self-motivated, willing to learn and help evolve the R&D department.
