Newmedica are one of the leading providers of NHS ophthalmology services in England, providing outpatients appointments, diagnostic testing and eye surgery. We aim to change lives throught better sight and eye health.

Overview of the role
Reporting to the Lead Finance Business Partner, the Senior Finance Business Partner works alongside the Service Development Team to support our Ophthalmology Joint Venture (OJV) businesses. As a Senior Business Partner, you will be responsible for supporting the business by producing insightful financial information to drive profitable decision making and support the future long-term growth of the business and the OJVs.
You'll be directly partnering with several OJVs and we'd expect you to travel to each of these sites at least once a quarter for finance planning purposes, as well as for any ad-hoc business-related reasons.
You will be responsible for building relationships with the wider business and key stakeholders across the OJVs and continuing to develop the role as a trusted partner and commercial advisor to a number of SME businesses. Role holders should have strong interpersonal skills for interaction with the Newmedica senior management team and OJV partners.
We're looking for someone who is self-driven, and who can easily pick up assigned projects, own them and be accountable to deliver results. You'll be self-motivated to provide excellent levels of support to our OJV services and have a true client centred approach.
What experience do I need?
It goes without saying that you'll be a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA), and you'll already have significant business partnering experience in the financial sector. The business partner experience is a key requirement and as such you'll be adept at building successful relationships and managing, influencing and challenging stakeholders at all levels.
You'll ideally have experience of working in a fast paced, multi site healthcare organisation, whether that be in the NHS or at a private provider. Working knowledge of a joint venture model would also be advantageous. You'll be managing multiple workstreams so the ability to juggle priorities will be key, as will high levels of attention to detail when handling business critical information.
You'll also be confident in producing financial models and presenting financial data to senior stakeholders, including those that may not be familiar with financial processes. You'll be experienced with Excel and managing and translating large data sets into meaningful insights.
The role is hybrid, with a mixture of home and office-based work. For the purpose of team logistics, we're looking for people who live within about an hour of Nottingham and will be able to work in the office once or twice a week.
There will also be regular travel to our OJVs, including partner meetings, which could be held in the evening after their theatre sessions, and may therfore necessitate overnight stays.
If you are shortlisted, you will be asked to complete a short video as the next stage of the process. If you are successful at that stage, there will then be face to face interviews in Nottingham.
