Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in East London, are looking for an experienced
Senior Finance Business Partner to join their team and play a crucial role in their financial services operations
Position: Finance Business Partner
Rate: £550 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (3 Months) with Possible Extension
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in the Office)

Purpose:

• To act as Senior Finance Business Partner for a portfolio of services within the Council, providing financial advice, guidance and support to Strategic Directors, Directors, Heads of Service and other Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

To lead and manage the business partnering team for a defined set of Council services providing full financial support including (but not limited to):

• Budget monitoring and forecasting
• Technical finance advice on specialist areas (e.g. Schools, Capital, Grants, HRA).
• Provision of accurate and timely reports on relevant financial issues and performance.
• Providing data analysis and options appraisal to enable financially sound and informed decision making.
• Budget setting and financial planning.
• Year-end processes including providing specified notes to the accounts and audit evidence.
• Staying informed of financial regulations and legalities relevant to the service area and Public Sector Finance.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Senior Finance Business Partner role or equivalent.
• CCAB qualification, continuing professional development and a member of accountancy body (with at least 3 years accounting experience including at least 1 year post qualification).
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
