Job Description

Service Care Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a London Local Authority for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join on a temporary basis. The role involves leading and managing the business partnering team for specific Council services, providing comprehensive financial support.

Line management responsibilities include overseeing 3-6 FTE posts.

Main Responsibilities

1. Budget monitoring and forecasting
2. Providing technical finance advice in areas such as Schools, Capital, Grants, and HRA
3. Producing accurate and timely reports on financial issues and performance
4. Data analysis and options appraisal to support informed decision-making
5. Budget setting and financial planning
6. Managing year-end processes, including notes to the accounts and audit evidence
7. Staying informed of relevant financial regulations and legalities in the public sector

Candidate Criteria

1. Qualified CCAB/CIMA Accountant with extensive experience
2. Experience in account closure, budget planning, and financial management within a Local Authority
3. Experience advising across multiple service finance areas
4. Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to interpret data for decision-making
5. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team
