We are a growing finance team sitting at the group level, seeking a highly motivated and proactive Senior Finance Assistant to join our team. In this key role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day transactional financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of our financial records. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of their role and be responsible for all areas of transactional finance for 2-3 of our entities, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and possess a positive attitude toward continual process improvements - we want to hear your ideas!

As a Senior Finance Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the company's rapid growth through smooth financial operations, and work closely with the Finance Manager and Group Executive Director to ensure timely and accurate reporting. You should be an organised, proactive, and detail-oriented individual who takes pride in their work and strives for excellence; knowing that everything we do in finance contributes to the company’s mission to provide the highest quality of care to the individuals we support.

Responsibilities

• Sales Ledger: raising sales invoices, resolving queries, and credit control
• Purchase Ledger: raising PO's, processing purchase invoices, and producing monthly supplier payment runs
• Bank reconciliations
• Expenses & Credit Cards: Processing staff expense claims, processing company credit card expenses
• VAT returns
• Month End Close: Assist with month-end processes, journals, and intercompany reconciliations
• Payroll: End to end processing of payroll, including FPS, submitting pension contributions and being the first point of contact for employee queries
• Collaboration & Communication: partner with and work closely with other teams to support them with accurate financial information.
• Ownership: Take ownership of all transactional finance for your entities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision. Be proactive in addressing issues and resolving queries.
• Process Improvement: Continuously assess and implement improvements to financial processes and systems for greater efficiency as the business grows.
• Other ad hoc duties & reporting as required to support the finance team

Person Spec

• AAT Level 4 qualified or equivalent, strong QBE candidates also considered
• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role, with demonstrated ability to take ownership of it
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Experience of Xero advantageous
• Proactive & positive
• Continual improvement mindset
