Job description

Senior Bookkeeper

• Responsible for managing a client portfolio of bookkeeping and VAT returns, covering both sole trade and incorporated entities across various industries.

• Performing bookkeeping using various software programs, with a primary focus on Xero.

• Preparing VAT returns.

• Responding to client queries promptly and professionally.

• Ensuring trial balances are accurate and complete for handover to the accounts department.

• Registering and deregistering clients for VAT as required.

The ideal candidate will have experience in an accountancy practice with:

• Proficiency in bookkeeping software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.

• Experience dealing with HMRC regarding VAT, including knowledge of VAT schemes and some VAT planning experience.
