Job summary

Hawkes Resourcing Group is working with an established specialist contractor to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator to their commercial team in London. The role focuses on taking ownership of tenders from enquiry through submission, with a background in flooring, tiling, stone or specialist finishes.

You will review drawings, prepare take-offs, price labour and materials, obtain quotations, identify risk, and manage tender clarifications.

Senior Estimator - Specialist - Tiling & Stone

Location: London

Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 DOE + Package

Hawkes Resourcing is working with an established specialist contractor looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator to join their commercial team.

This is a senior-level opportunity for someone who understands specialist subcontracting and is comfortable taking ownership of tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission.

The exact sector background is flexible, but you must have solid estimating experience within a subcontracting or specialist contracting environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Reviewing tender enquiries, drawings and specifications
• Producing detailed take-offs and cost plans
• Pricing labour, materials and subcontract packages
• Obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Identifying commercial risk and scope gaps
• Preparing and submitting competitive tenders
• Managing tender clarifications and revisions
• Liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams
• Supporting commercial negotiations
• Assisting with project handover following successful tenders

The Person

We are looking for someone who:

• Has strong estimating experience within specialist construction
• Understands commercial subcontracting
• Can read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Is commercially aware and confident dealing with clients
• Can manage multiple tenders and deadlines
• Has experience working on commercial projects in London or the surrounding areas

This would suit an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator looking to join a stable business with a strong pipeline of work.

Previous experience within flooring, tiling, stone or specialist finishes would be particularly relevant.

Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 depending on experience, with flexibility for the right person.
