Job summary

OUTSOURCE CONSTRUCTION LTD in London is seeking a Senior Estimator with a strong background in stone and tiling to join our pre-construction team. You will price and prepare competitive tenders for stone & tiling packages on high-quality commercial fit-out projects for tier 1/2 main contractors.

The ideal candidate will interpret drawings, manage take-offs, value materials and subcontractor quotations, contribute to cost saving through value engineering, and support junior estimators while

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Estimator or Senior Estimator in stone, tiling, specialist finishes or commercial fit-out.
• Strong knowledge of stone and tiling materials, specifications, installation methods and associated costs.
• Experience pricing projects within the London commercial fit-out market.
• Excellent ability to interpret drawings, specifications and construction documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for stone and tiling packages across commercial fit-out projects.
• Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and schedules of works.
• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities.
• Obtain and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop competitive and commercially viable tender submissions.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions and opportunities during the tender process.
• Liaise with clients, main contractors, architects, designers, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and tender documentation.
• Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving proposals where appropriate.
• Manage multiple tenders simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Support junior estimators and contribute to estimating processes.

Senior Estimator – Stone & Tiling

Location: London

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in stone and tiling to join an established business working on commercial fit out projects with tier 1 and tier 2 main contractors.

This is a key role within the pre-construction team, responsible for pricing and preparing competitive, accurate tenders for stone & tiling packages across high-quality commercial fit-out projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of stone and tiling packages, excellent commercial awareness, and a proven track record of estimating projects within the London fit-out market.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for stone and tiling packages across commercial fit-out projects.
• Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and schedules of works.
• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities.
• Obtain and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop competitive and commercially viable tender submissions.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions and opportunities during the tender process.
• Liaise with clients, main contractors, architects, designers, suppliers and subcontractors as required.
• Analyse drawings and specifications to identify scope, discrepancies and potential cost implications.
• Value materials, labour, plant, wastage, logistics and installation requirements.
• Assist with procurement and commercial handover following successful tenders.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and tender documentation.
• Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving proposals where appropriate.
• Manage multiple tenders simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Support junior estimators and contribute to the development of estimating processes and best practice.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within stone, tiling, specialist finishes or commercial fit-out.
• Strong knowledge of stone and tiling materials, specifications, installation methods and associated costs.
• Experience pricing projects within the London commercial fit-out market.
• Excellent ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
• Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills.
• Experience obtaining and negotiating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• A thorough and methodical approach to estimating.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify commercial risks.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and estimating/tendering software.
